The club's retired Chairman passes on a message to all club members following the beer festival.

In early 2017 I started developing an idea for a Beer Festival at the Rugby Club. In February 2018 I had an accident that resulted in me receiving serious injuries and I was detained in Pinderfields Hospital for 13 weeks. I did not think it would be possible for the Beer Festival to proceed.

When Ian Hassall came to see me and told me the Festival was going ahead I was determined to make it. When I arrived at the Festival with all my family I was blown away with the event and its organisation. Like the hundreds of people that attended we had an excellent day and it was an unforgettable experience.

I am acutely aware that whilst I was in hospital, this outstanding success was only achieved through an incredible amount of hard work and support.

I would like to publicly thank the event leader Ian Hassall, the Beer Festival Committee, Mike Allen and the Club's staff, all the sponsors and fantastic volunteers, what you achieved was amazing!

The band leader of Huge summed up my feelings, when he said to me "a fantastic community you have at the rugby club." It says it all!

I am continuing with my recuperation and look forward to seeing you back at the Club soon.

Adam
