As club members we ask for your help and support to send a response to the Council on aspects of the Ripon City Plan.

The latest iteration of the Ripon City Plan has been published recently and Ripon RUFC President Mr Tim Wray has responded on behalf of the Club, but we need your help.

We object to the Ripon City Plan in so much as it impacts upon on our Club. We have made it clear that we have no intention of relocating from our current location and we are both disappointed and surprised that our grounds have not been identified as a protected space. Members should not be over concerned at this stage as there is no clear plan to develop Mallorie Park or take action to make us move.

We do, however, ask that all members (and friends and family) email the Ripon City Plan (cityplan@riponcity.gov.uk) and inform them that we do not intend to move from Mallorie Park and ask why the Spa Gardens, Spa Park and the Cricket Club have been designated as a protected area and we have not.

The more people that raise an objection as to why we are being treated unfairly and demand that Ripon Rugby Club’s status be changed to a protected area, the stronger our case will be if future events change and planning decisions are escalated and become a concern.

The Committee are monitoring this situation closely and respectively request as many people as possible write to the City Plan email address and put our point of view across. The more people that support our position the stronger it becomes!

City Plan responses need to be in by 30th October to cityplan@riponcity.gov.uk so please act fast. A copy of the City Plan is below.

Many thanks
Adam Briggs
Club Chairman
