Here's today's Chairmans Chunter from the matchday programme

Today we look forward to the visit to Mallorie Park the 'skull and cross bones, ' of Leeds Medics and Dentists. They are very welcome in our ancient City and perhaps will justly feel that they should have won the previous encounter with Ripon earlier in the season. Having lost 5 points to 8 and with Ripon down to 14 men, the university side missed some real opportunities to seize the game. With both sides at the wrong end of the Yorkshire 2 table, the physicians are likely to arrive 'fired up,' and ready for a real 'six pointer!'

Ripon First XV have continued to improve in both their form and results since the New Year, with a fine win last week at Knottingley. This is always a difficult place to go and dig out a victory, so credit to the guys for this hard earned achievement. I understand the warmth of the home supporters welcome has not changed, nor has they extensive vocabulary of expletives in appreciating their opponents and the decision making of match officials!

Dan Watson continues to seek tourists for his visit to the Lancashire Riviera. I understand that Ian Hassall and Andy Foster have agreed reluctantly to join the tour and are seeking other older people to help share their risk! For those that have never experienced the Pepsi Max or warm beer in plastic glass a unique opportunity awaits!

As plans to refurbish our Club start to gain momentum keep your eyes peeled in the Clubhouse as the detailed drawings will be displayed shortly. We are committed to continue in the development of our facilities and members may have noticed a recent advert for a player/forward coach to boost our performances on the field going forward.

I hope that all players, members and supporters have an enjoyable afternoon, in what should be a competitive and compelling match. The Club wishes to thank Northern Cell for sponsoring todays game and please enquire with bar staff if you or your company are interested in sponsoring Ripon Rugby Club in the future.
