The Chunter from today's match day programme from Chairman, Adam Briggs

Well the new world order of Eddie Jones trundled into Edinburgh took the treasure and left without a fuss. A workman like performance by England was enough to keep Scotland at bay and if the match was not regarded as a classic maybe more credit should go to Jones’ tactics; as a win is a win, as we say in our game. There are many amongst us that suffer the memories of heartbreak and the loss of a major tournament on the rain sodden battlefield of Murrayfield and to come away from Scotland with the points is a good enough start for me! It is of course too early for the England faithful to see what the future holds, the penalty count remains high, our new captain managed to continue his rehabilitation and whilst the set piece was greatly improved, perhaps the back line need to show more.

All members are reminded that the Six Nations games are fully covered in the Club so make sure you know where to watch this adventure unfold!

Meanwhile back in Yorkshire 2 we are delighted to welcome Wath upon Dearne to Mallorie Park. Today’s opponents were relegated from League 1 last season and currently sit one place and seven points ahead of their hosts. Wath have enjoyed mixed fortunes so far in Yorkshire 2 and having beaten Sheffield Medicals 22 - 20 in the last few minutes of their last outing, they will visit Ripon in a confident mood, seeking to push on. The fixture between the two sides earlier in the season saw Wath 'edge it’, in a closely contested game at where they won 26 - 22 again in the last few minutes!

Ripon were defeated by a strong Moortown side last week, however, the lads competed well, particularly in the second half. I know that the players will be eager to return to winning ways today and a strong start is required. We do not want to sit in mid table complacency and one of the real improvements we have seen from the team today is a more dogged determination to battle games out! I hope that all players and spectators enjoy this afternoon's rugby and in particular our guests feel welcome at our family club.

I would like to thank todays sponsors Bill Plant for their support and I would like to remind members that there is a special offer on at the moment, too good for a potential sponsor to miss. Interested - talk to Dave Naylor.
