As you may be aware all memberships of Ripon RUFC have for a number of years been run through the RFU system known as GMS (Game Management System). As we head in to another season I am contacting to update you on the developments that will commence this season with GMS.

It is the RFU’s intention, in order to fully comply with the new GDPR legislation, that all memberships will go to an online platform, starting this season, but to be up and fully running by next season. The hope is to do away with paper membership forms and for it all to be done on-line.

Don’t panic if you already have a hand full of completed membership forms we can still process them as last year so you have not wasted your time. It also places a lot of emphasis on the individuals entering all of their information directly on to GMS which means less work for all of us.

The good news is that the RFU are running a workshop on the new system next Monday 20th August at Ripon RUFC, starts at 18:30hrs (6:30pm) This is the ideal opportunity for you to come along and see how the new system will work and to ask all the pertinent questions whilst we have the experts in the building.

Please don’t waste this opportunity, GMS is without doubt the future of how we will interact with the RFU and it is better that we embrace it now rather than trying to play catch up next year.
