We are very sorry to record the death of club patron and supporter Rob Bradley who died on 28th June while on holiday in his native Wales.

For several years, Rob has been a regular member of the ‘Friday Gang’, the squad of retirees who help maintain the playing areas, clubhouse and changing rooms year round. In past years he was a loyal supporter at Saturday games as well.

Rob was born in 1945 and raised near Swansea. After school, he studied in dentistry in Leeds, where he met his future wife, Sue. He first worked in dental practices in South Yorkshire then Suffolk, before settling as a partner in Wetherby from 1973 until retiring in 2005.

Rob’s skill in woodwork and general repairs will be missed by the ‘Gang’, as will his cheerful nature and prolific supply of funny stories. A quiet funeral is to be held in Kirklington, not far from his home - family flowers only.

Our thoughts are with Sue, daughter Julia, son James and their families.

If desired, donations in his name may be given to The British Heart Foundation.

(Thanks to Ian Stalker for providing this obituary)
