Training

Another beautiful Sunday morning & another great training session. With 19 boys this week, the coaches put the boys through their paces with a series of agility, ball skills and games drills to set them up for success for their first game away to Wensleydale.

Here are 4 things that we learnt this week;

1. Training is thirsty work.

Especially in this glorious weather ! The boys worked hard and took regular drinks breaks between drills to rehydrate and go again. They were all thankful for their drinks bottles. Good work boys.

P.S. If you are concerned about the Coaches. Don't worry they enjoyed refreshments in the Clubhouse later.

2. The sunshine won't last.

The weather was glorious but we all know that this 'Indian' summer will not last. Sam, our team manager, reminded us all for the need to get the right kit so that the boys have a great rugby experience. If you are not sure what gear your daughter or son needs contact Sam directly at sam.webster@riponrugby.org.

3. Without the Coaches...

...we would not have demonstrations of drills and - as a consequence - bags full of laughs. Huge thanks to Sam, Damo, Darren, Nick and Johnny. Without them we couldn't lead, organise, coach and encourage 20+ boys each week. We also wouldn't have a good laugh too.

4. We all love fig rolls

Many thanks to Eddie's daddy, Richard, for bringing fig rolls along for the boys to enjoy after their rugby workout. Old school. Love it. Makes a change from flapjack.
