Promoting rugby in local Primary schools

Ripon Rugby Union Football Club is recruiting new junior players for the new rugby season. 3 weeks ago over 1000 promotional flyers were distributed in Primary Schools across the Ripon area to encourage children to give rugby a try.

Kerry Dalton, Head teacher, Roecliffe C of E Primary School, said, “Rugby is a great sport for girls and boys to play. It’s fun and helps contribute to the development of essential skills to aid learning.”

The Club has a vibrant junior section, with over 300 players, coached by RFU qualified coaches. “Rugby is a great sport for kids of all shapes and sizes, there is a position for everyone. We focus on skills and participation – no match day squads”, said U8s Head Coach, Paul Say.

Training for the new season has started. However, girls and boys from the age of 6 to 18 are more than welcome to come and join now. The Club train Sunday mornings, from 10am at Mallorie Park, Ripon, HG4 2QD.
