Bluebelles Get the Season Underway
On Sunday the Ripon Bluebelles attended the league opener tournament at Malton. Match summary by Jess Lane.
Ripon were teamed up with Northallerton due to reduced numbers.
In their first game "RipTon" played Malton and won 12-5, with a try coming for Rachael Sharp of Ripon - her first since returning to rugby after Uni.
Some really strong running from Dot Frankland who the opposition struggled to contain, with super support play from Lindsey Holling and Sarah Winterschladen.
The second game was 12’s versus Driffield, RipTon lost 20-10. There was some really good work at the break down with strong rucking from RipTon. A try again by Rachael Sharp. Driffield capitalised on their choice of uncontested scrums to reduce RipTon’s advantage.
