A warm welcome to all new players & their families from all of us at Ripon RUFC Under 9's - we hope you are enjoying the fun of training with us and look forward to another great season.

The coaches & myself are here to support & guide you through the transition from tag rugby to the new game that includes a degree of tackling. In order for us to ensure you do this properly and safely it is very important that you try to follow theses guidelines.........

Please wear a gumshield when playing and training - a toothless grin is not something we are looking for
Headgear and shoulder pads are a great idea when learning to tackle, they help you take the knocks and learn to tackle safely.
We would recommend that your child wears rugby boots with rugby studs on them
Keep drinking lots of water - you are working hard and need to keep hydrated.
Listen to your coaches !!! They are teaching you and looking out for you, if you are talking you are not listening !!!
Get to training and matches on time and be ready to play - this helps your coaches plan the most effective training session for you and use the time we have to the maximum.
If you have a problem or do not understand, feel unhappy or upset - talk to your coaches - let them know - if you do not let us know we cannot help you.
