England RFU have launched new online education courses to raise awareness of concussion.

We would encourage everyone to do the courses to help raise awareness of concussion throughout the game. Available at www.EnglandRugby.com/Headcase the 30 minute courses will take you through why it's important to manage concussion properly, and how everyone has a role in protecting and helping players through their recovery and return to play.

The courses also highlight the potential and serious consequences of the injury. Based on the "4Rs" - Recognise, Remove, Recover and Return – the courses reinforce the messages that have been delivered through the ‘Headcase’ website, Rugby Ready courses and promotional materials over the last 18 months.

This resource is also an excellent destination to which parents of youngsters suffering from possible concussion can be referred – the section explaining the Graduated Return to Play is especially helpful in making sure young players do not return too early. Parents have an important role to play in this management of concussion cases because they can keep both the school, the club and any other sport the youngster plays, aware of the player’s progress towards recovery.
