Another win for Ripon Colts in the Yorkshire Cup. A hard fought for result at Bradford and Bingley, twice coming from behind and playing with 14 men for most of the last 15 mins.
Early pressure from Ripon was undone when B’s took the lead and knocked over the conversion. Ripon’s reply came from Miles Naylor going over in the corner after the ball was worked out wide from a scrum early in the second half.
Playing much better rugby now with the forwards getting the upper hand at the breakdown Ripon took the lead with Josh Spear going over from close in. B’s piled on the pressure
and Ripon after a string of penalties against them had Rob Heaton Yellow carded for tackling the player from an offside position.
Inevitably B’s pressure resulted in a try. 12-10. Again Ripon responded well and retook the lead with the best try of the game, after good work down the back line Lucian Wray kicked on for Joe Middlemiss to score the try. B’s went all out looking for a reply and Ripon had to defend their tryline for what seemed an age, three times B’s got over the line only for the ball to be held up. A great win 15-12
