After weeks of games being bathed in beautiful sunshine and blue skies, conditions at the Thirsk Rugby Festival were almost monsoon like. A shock to the system for all.
Ripon U8s were well represented, with three teams entered into the Festival. Playing teams from Northallerton, Wetherby, York, Selby and Harrogate - to name but a few.
Despite the weather, the boys showed true grit and determination to enjoy the game. Lots of tags, dodges and tries in evidence. Most notably, Felix scored his first ever try for Ripon U8s and was mobbed by his team mates. Celebration almost taking over the remainder of the game !
Afterwards the Thirsk RUFC Clubhouse was packed to the rafters, as the boys plundered the warm after match meal and received their Festival medals. Good job lads.
Next week - away to York. See you then
