The first game of the season today for the U11's away at Otley proved that hard work and team spirit pays dividends. Every single player today not only made parents and coaches proud, but can sleep well tonight knowing they gave 100% to their team.
The pitch was larger than the boys have been used to training on which was worrying - would they cluster and not use the space?
Quite the opposite in fact. Great handling, direct running, support play and using the full width of the pitch was great to see and left Otley stunned.
To be fair to the hosts, they never gave up or let their heads drop and scored several blistering tries. Our best wishes also go to the young man who had a very painful knee injury, we all hope it is not serious and wish him a speedy recovery.
Thank you to great support from the Ripon parents, all of whom should be very proud of their little warriors!
Bring on Harrogate next week!
