Tough Defeat for U14's at Wath on Dearne

A hard start to the season for the under 14's with an Away game at Wath on Dearne, with the home team winning well, running in 10 tries.

Though the points score was large, the two teams were quite well matched, however missed tackles and handling errors by Ripon made a big difference. While Ripon had good spells with Ben Borchard and Oliver Bowett making strong runs, and Toby, Will and Henry tackling well, inconsistency cost them dearly.

On the plus side the scrum worked well and Ripon won their share of the ball in the breakdown. Plenty to think about for the coming weeks.
