Malton at home and a return to winning ways for the under 15s. For a change Ripon started well, strong runs from Ben Borchard and Jack Baldwin taking them well into Maltons twenty two where they worried the opposition twice before taking the lead with a powerful run from James Willis. The conversion was successful for a 7-0 lead. Malton however hit back and scored a try to make it 7-5.
Both sides had chances, Ripon defended well, very few missed tackles this week, Will Langford and James Gatford putting in a lot of hard work. Prop Gatford carried a lot of ball, and Willis got his second after a storming run up the middle from Gatford opened up the defence 12-5. Ripon piled on the pressure and soon had two more scores, first Charlie Graham going over and then Willis getting his hat-trick.
Good work again from Man of the Match Gatford and also Charlie Britton, 22-5. Malton ran in a second before in the last few minutes Ripon scored their last and best of the game. The forwards worked the ball into the Malton twenty two where the backs took over, spinning the ball out to the wing for Miles Naylor to squeeze over in the corner to give a final score of Ripon 27-10 Malton. Man of Steel was awarded to Jamie McGoohan for his all round performance.
