With no first team game the attention was focused on the Hornblowers home fixture against a strong Morley second string.
The home side started well and the pack were on top initially but it was soon apparent that the strong running Morley backs were going to create problems.
The first half turned out to be fairly even and the sides turned round with the score at 12-12.
Tries by Craig Wolloms and Karl Lumb and a touch line conversion by Scott Mogridge accounted for Ripon’s 12 points.
The second half was a different story as the Morley pack began to dominate and their strong backs took advantage of their wealth of good possession to run out comfortable winners.
