Talk about making a game hard for yourselves! With an early try Ripon 3s seemed to start on a good footing, however they did not seem to have the zest that they had in last game. They also failed to use these early points to their advantage.
Down to 14 players after 18 minutes, it looked like Yarnbury were going to start to dominate. However the 3s go themselves sorted out and with some ol Ripon grit and determination pulled back a great and deserved draw.
Great work today from all the players, some playing in positions that they had not played in before. Mention must go to Simon Williamson who took a stunning interception and also great work and leadership of the forwards by Robert Lamb. Also for Craig Sykes who scored a dramatic last minute try to get us the draw.
Man of the Match was Billy Burgon who after getting yellow carded, never put a foot wrong and never missed a tackle. Thanks also to Rob Stores who played for Yarnbury when one of their players went off injured.
Little things to work on but the team are getting there!
Next week is another league game Away at Selby 4s
