Back to winning ways for the Colts with a much improved performance against Selby in the Yorkshire Cup. After weeks of good weather, autumn arrived half an hour before kickoff, with heavy rain making handling all the more difficult. Ripon made the better start, The pack playing well controlled phased rugby from the kickoff marched the ball up the pitch several times, and they were rewarded with an early try from Will Langford.

With the forwards winning plenty of breakdown ball the backs also had a better platform to play from and despite the wet conditions moved the ball well, Luke Ratcliff and Jake Robinson both making good runs up the wings only to be stopped short by good defence from Selby.
