Ripon U13s continued their impressive start to this season.
As suspected, Harrogate were more organised in defence than last weeks opponents, however the physical size and power of the Ripon squad was a big factor.
The first half saw Ripon with the lion's share of possession and some powerful runs by both forwards and backs.
When Harrogate did have the ball, Ripon's defence was outstanding. Big tackles from Dylan Hudspeth, Ted Wainwright, Michael Sorby, Evan Rees and Soloman Feingold prevented Harrogate attacks building momentum.
Hamish Mainey and Harry Hill worked well together to get the back line moving, evident in the number of winger's tries.
Connor Stout playing his debut for Ripon looked impressive with ball in hand.
Harrogate showed great spirit and mounted a few attacks towards the end of the second half. Good try line defence kept them out and even when they got over the line they were held up. However, a clearance kick from the dead ball area was caught by a strong gust of wind, landed back in the dead ball area and was pounced on for a well deserved try to the home side.
Ripon hit straight back though by catching the restart and going under the posts for the final move of the match.
The game is dedicated to Sean Skahan who has been such a pleasure to coach. Sadly he has decided to leave the squad for now. He will be missed and will always be welcomed back.
