U13s Progress to cup quarter final

Ripon U13s continued their unbeaten run this season with an impressive win against a strong Sheffield side.
A stressful bus journey arriving 20 minutes before kick off only allowed a brief warm up.
However the minute silence concentrated minds and Ripon came out firing on all cylinders.

An excellent break from Harry Hill was eventually defended but the ever present Ted Wainwright was in close support and came within a yard of scoring. Ted popped the ball to Evan Rees in support who crossed for the first try of the game.
Ripon's second came from a big tackle from Harry Hill who then jackled for the ball and ran in under the posts from 45 meters.

Harry Hill notched up his second with a great individual try - catching a penalty kick which didn't quite make touch, Harry ran the ball straight through midfield and scored under the posts.

Ted Wainwright got Ripon's forth with a catch from the lineout around the half way line. Powerful running and fend offs resulted in a try under the posts.

26-0 at Half time.

Sheffield came out of the second half meaning business and applied a huge amount of pressure, nearly scoring in the corner, thwarted only by a massive tackle by Oliver Williams in the corner.

Harry Hill secured his hat trick from an interception, which he ran in from 10 meters inside his on half.
Ted Wainwright scored his second from a dominant Ripon scrum, picking up from the back and evading the defence to dive over the line.

The final try of the game came from a big run from Luca Lombadi, off loading to Harry Hill who crossed yet again.

With a difference of more than 40 the rules of the Yorkshire Cup at this age level resulted in the end of the game.

Soloman Fiengold showed his versatility, with a good performance on the flank.
Harry Allen put in some important tackles and made yards with ball in hand.
