Apologies to the regular match report readers - many who have complained about a lack of report from last week. I've been away with work all week and not had a chance to scribe.
Further apologies for the following content - as the referee of the match it would have been considered bad form to make copious notes while in charge of the game - the match reports are usually from notes and memory. Unfortunately a week of meetings and the odd shandy has had a direct result on the memory.
What I can remember is that is was definitely a game of two halves - Ripon started the stronger running in three unanswered tries via Ted Wainwright, Cole Potts and Connor Stout (all converted by Hamish Mainey with his new sky scraper of a kicking tee).
The visitors pulled one back but it was soon nullified by Michael Sorby - It was nice to see the crunching defender on the attack.
Titus Baker crossed for Ripon's 5th and Hamish Mainey slotted the conversion keeping a 100% kicking record.
Huge respect to Middlesbrough as they stepped up their game and ran in three tries of their own.
