U13s win hard fought battle

Saturday's game against Portobello seemed a distance memory when Ripon found themselves against a mixed S1 and S2 (which translates to U13s and U14s) Biggar team - and yes they were Bigger!

In complete contrast to the day before Ripon found themselves defending their try line from an onslaught worthy of Braveheart.
In what seemed like an age Ripon tackled like demons and prevented Biggar from crossing - Harry Allen made a number of try saving tackles.
Ripon confidence seemed to build with every tackle and they began working their way up the pitch away from the danger area.

Something clicked in the Ripon team and Titus Baker finished a good team effort with a first try of the game. Minutes later Titus Baker scored again followed by two tries from Connor Stout and one from Evan Rees.

Biggar hit back with three back to back tries of their own and were looking like they may come back and steal the game.

Their momentum was broken by a second try from Evan Rees but they came back shortly after with one of their own.

The game ended much like it started with Ripon throwing everything they had into defence and protecting their slender lead to the final whistle.

It was probably the best game of rugby Ripon U13s have played all season and we look forward to Biggar visiting us for round 2.

Yet again great hospitality - the lemonade and cracker races were as close as the rugby.
The Judge was wise and fair and punished those that deserved it (aswell as those that didn't).

Cardiff next year for tour - that'll be hard - best rugby nation in the World!
