Some sequels are so much better than their predecessor, such as The Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2 and Aliens.
Some should never have been made – Predator 2, Police Academy 2 and Rocky 2.
Wharfedale 2 was in the latter category.
With their backs against the ropes from early on, Ripon started leaking tries like a Julian Assange article.
It wasn’t long before visitors Ripon found themselves 17-0 down, however a Harry Hill break saw him close the gap, going under the posts to allow Hamish Mainey to add the conversion (17-7).
Wharfedale replied immediately (22-7).
Then just before half time Evan Rees made a break and also touched down under the posts, converted by Hamish (22-14).
Any chance of a second half comeback was looking unlikely though when Wharfedale scored another 2 tries early on. (34-14)
Harry Hill got his second with a typical long distance powerful run to bring it back to 34-21 but the home team responded with another 2 of their own (44-21).
A Harry Hill hat trick closed the game out with a consolation try again converted by Hamish (44-28).
