Harrogate away this week for the under 14s and what a difference in the performance. Ripon played a much more confident game moving the ball with greater speed along the line. Charlie Britton showed his pace to almost break through down the line in the opening minutes. The first try came from
Oliver Bowett who went over from close range after good work from Ben Borchard and Lucian Wray.
Ripon continued to press hard and came close twice more before Rob Heaton scored the second following a good run from Jack Baldwin. Ben Borchard got the third with a run through the middle, skipping three tackles to give Ripon a 15 point lead. Harrogate came into the game more in the final third but Ripon defended well restricting them to a single converted try.
The whole team defended well with tackles of note from Will Langford, James Willis and both Elliots, Bean and Brookesbank. Ripon’s final try again came from Rob Heaton with another short range run off the back of a ruck to make the final score 7-20 to Ripon.
