Wetherby at home this week and another good performance against a team who usually do well against Ripon. Again the Ripon’s defence stood up well against a strong Wetherby back line and in a tight first half Ripon got points on the board first. Strong running from Joe Middlemiss saw him pick up in his own half and sprint half the length of the pitch down the wing to score, Charlie Hynes put the conversion over. Ripon could have had another three points Hynesy unlucky with a penalty attempt.
Wetherby levelled things up with a try of their own, one missed tackle proving very costly. The second half brought chances for both sides, however both defences had the upper hand . A good all round performance by the full squad, two notable games from Miles Naylor playing at full back, clearing up the loose balls and making good ground when linking up with the backline and Sam Headford playing anywhere in the front row and making several good tackles.
